About
Dr Sylvia Makvala hails from the mountainous Adjara region of Georgia, where their upbringing as a Muslim in a predominantly Orthodox country fostered a unique perspective on cultural outliers. After completing a PhD focused on the physiological impacts of high-altitude gestation, Sylvia caught the eye of Dr Melanie Douchewater during an international conference in Tbilisi. Dr Douchewater was particularly captivated by Dr Makvala’s research into ancient Caucasian fertility amulets that seemingly depicted pregnant men. Now settled in Tauranga, Dr Makvala serves exclusively as a Lecturer for the Bachelor of Mpreg Studies. She is best known for her spirited seminars on "The Male Pelvic Floor in History," where they frequently remind students that the beta male body is a temple that requires structural reinforcement.
