Overview

Greek Frappé Terminology develops the vocabulary, pronunciation, and practical communication skills required to discuss, order, prepare, serve, and evaluate Greek frappé. Students study terminology and transliterations relating to coffee, sweetness, milk, water, ice, foam, serving vessels, equipment, café service, and customer preferences.

The course emphasizes culturally appropriate café interactions, including requests for sketo, metrio, and glyko frappé; clarification of milk, size, and ice; order confirmation; polite correction; and description of texture and flavor. Instruction includes listening comprehension, pronunciation, menu interpretation, labeling exercises, role-play, preparation instructions, and short bilingual presentations. Attention is given to accent marks, transliteration, register, regional variation, etiquette, and context-appropriate translation.
