Overview
This course develops practical expertise in contemporary front-end application development using component-based frameworks and modern JavaScript or TypeScript tooling. Students apply semantic HTML, responsive CSS, component architecture, properties and state, event handling, routing, forms and validation, asynchronous programming, API integration, authentication concepts, state-management patterns, reusable design systems, accessibility standards, and internationalization.
The course examines build tools, package management, module systems, source control, environment configuration, performance optimization, code splitting, caching, testing, debugging, linting, formatting, secure front-end practices, dependency management, and deployment workflows. Through incremental projects, students plan application architecture, create reusable components, consume backend services, implement accessible responsive interfaces, evaluate quality and performance, collaborate through version control and code review, and deploy and document a production-ready application.

- Evaluate front-end frameworks and select an appropriate framework and tooling strategy for a specified application.
- Translate interface and design requirements into semantic, responsive, accessible, and maintainable code.

- Implement asynchronous data flows, API integration, authentication concepts, error handling, and appropriate application state-management patterns.
- Apply module systems, package management, environment configuration, build pipelines, source control, and deployment workflows.
- Design and execute unit, integration, component, and end-to-end tests, and diagnose defects using debugging, linting, and formatting tools.
- Evaluate application performance, usability, accessibility, security, and maintainability using suitable technical and user-centred criteria.
- Collaborate through version control, code review, technical documentation, and structured development practices to deliver a production-ready application.
