About

The University of Sexology, Tauranga, offers Aotearoa's first dedicated data science programme focused entirely on human sexuality, reproductive health, and intimacy research. Students combine rigorous statistical training with deep domain knowledge in sexual health, gender studies, and biological systems. We train analysts who can turn messy, sensitive data into insight that improves lives.

Course structure

Available Majors
Biostatistics

Develop expertise in statistical methods for biological and health research, including biostatistical inference, survival analysis, experimental design, and advanced health data modelling. The major prepares students to transform complex biomedical data into evidence that supports better research and decision-making.

Epidemiology

Explore how diseases and health outcomes are distributed across populations and investigate the factors that influence them. Through study design, surveillance, causal inference, and population health analysis, students learn to generate evidence for effective public health policy and practice.

Mpreg Studies

Examine male fertility, reproductive anatomy, embryology, reproductive physiology, implantation systems, and uterine integration technologies through an interdisciplinary data science lens. The major combines clinical, policy, research, and innovation perspectives to prepare students for emerging fields in reproductive health.

Statistical Methods

Build advanced capability in statistical theory, computation, modelling, and decision-making. Students develop practical expertise in multivariate, Bayesian, machine learning, and computational methods for solving complex problems across health, science, and data-driven industries.
