Overview
This supervised capstone practicum integrates male gestational anatomy, physiology, developmental biology, implantation science, diagnostic methods, clinical technology, ethics, and communication in authentic or simulated healthcare and research settings. Students apply multidisciplinary knowledge to structured clinical cases, laboratory and simulation exercises, evidence reviews, data interpretation, and team-based problem solving focused on male gestational care and perinatal health.
The course emphasizes professional documentation, research literacy, risk assessment, referral and escalation procedures, culturally responsive communication, confidentiality, informed consent, and interprofessional collaboration. Under approved supervision, students complete a mentored project addressing a defined challenge in male obstetrics, implantation care, fetal assessment, labor and surgical delivery, postpartum care, or associated clinical research. Placement, laboratory, safety, supervision, and assessment requirements are documented before participation.
